A First!!

I watched Lucie's little friend from school today(Jayden), we went to Fleet Farm and the kids wanted to put on the cheeseheads and once they did they were so cute I had to take a picture!!

Christmas!!

These pictures are scattered all over the place but they are all of Christmas.

The kids had a lot of fun at Christmas this year, I thought Grant got the best present which was a gameboy advance, but by far I think Lucie loves her presents the most. She got a pink radio(which she opened and got all excited and said "yeah a new pink radio for the kitchen") purple pom poms, a purple shiney "hannah montana" dress my mom made, and a microphone.

This year my whole family is going to a waterpark hotel for Christmas, so we didn't really have a BIG Christmas at my mom's yesterday. My grandma is in a rehab center right now and they gave her a day pass so she could come home for Christmas so we just went up there for a little bit.

Still in shock over rudeness of a stranger!!

A couple of hours ago I went to the Dollar Store to pick up a few things. I was in the check-out and this is what happened....
Lady-(talking to Lucie)-You're mommy made you look stupid today!
Lucie and I-just stared
Lady-(talking to me)-Well you did
I was in shock that she just told a three year old her hair was stupid!!! I was in shock and didn't answer her so again she repeated...
Lady-(to me)You know it does!!!!
Me-(still in shock)-it matches her crazy personality.
Then she said something else but it was lost to me and I know it wasn't an apology for insulting my daughter!!! Her hair was crazy it had three ponies in the front and one in the back but that is NOT the point, and it is cute-very Lucie!!

HOW RUDE IS SHE???? She doesn't know me or Lucie and she just insulted a little three year old and didn't think twice. She was ridiculous!! I am done shopping for a LONG time!!!

The Dreaded!!

Anyone who has ever lived by snow has experienced this...You shovel or plow your driveway and then you hear it. Coming from a distance-the crash and crunch sound of snow being pushed, and it becomes louder and louder, until you see it. You can't stop it, you just have to watch and wait. It is the dreaded city plow, without fail as soon as you are done clearing your driveway the plow comes and throws more snow in your driveway. This morning after the plow came Josh plowed a path and we took a picture of Lucie standing in the middle-keep in mind this is all from the last 8 hours!!

More What????

I have lived in Wisconsin all my life, but a year here and there. I don't think I have ever said this phrase so early on but "I am so sick of Winter". It seems like if we aren't getting a foot of snow a day it is below zero with the wind chill. Granted my kids love the snow and it is fun to make snowmen and snowballs and sled, but this is overkill. I am very grateful that we have a warm house, a snowblower, and a loving husband who blows everytime it snows. By Monday we could have 2 plus feet of snow and the poor kids will be going to school until August with all the snow days we have had. I guess that is what you get for living in Wisconsin-at least we expect it unlike Malibu that just got snow and they NEVER get snow.
I love it when Christmas is white!!!

The picture of Josh and Grant snowblowing, if you look at their legs and the depth of snow, we got all that snow in the last 7 hours and still more to come!

Santa!!

Last night we had an open house at my daycare and Santa came to visit. The kids were okay with Santa, they did dissappear for a short while and I found them hiding under the cookie table eating!! I also got a video of their little song they sang. That will be coming a little later!

The Nutcracker!!

Today Lucie and I went to see my little sister in "The Nutcracker." Before the show we went to get her a few roses, but Lucie really wanted to get her the pink ones so we ended up doing a dozen because that was the only way they came, they were soo pretty. After the performance Lucie waited so patiently for her Auntie Alana to come out so she could give her the flowers. Alana did sooo good, we are soo proud of her!! Unfortunatly my grandma is in the hospital right now but my grandpa was able to make it, I think he really enjoyed it also!!

Our BIG sledding experience!!

Moms job is to worry and Dads job is to have fun, so when Josh suggested we go to a rather large hill to go sledding I tried to bite my tongue and not be a nagging wife. We packed up the kids in the van, made hot cocoa and off we went(for anyone local we went to the hill behind Kohls in West Bend.)

Erika's girls went first and did great and loved it, then Grant went and he did pretty good.

Last were Daddy and Lucie(my little 28 lb baby.) They went double in a long plastic sled, dad in back and Lucie in the front. This is them at the top of the hill, kind of hard to see, but they are there.

This is them halfway down the hill, oh wait-this is only daddy, Lucie would be under the sled at this point because she fell off the sled and daddy went right over the top of her in the sled.

This is the poor little mark it left on her neck.

This is daddy and Grant walking back up the hill!

All in all they had fun, Lucie however sat in the van the rest of the time!

Babysitting Baby Addi!!

We babysat my sisters little girl for a few hours last week and Lucie was in heaven, she did her hair, put on a bib(I don't think she liked that), and they danced in the kitchen. Addi wouldn't let me feed her but loved it when Lucie did so she also fed her!! Lucie had a blast!

A Daddy on a Mission!!

Josh is like most husbands, and I am like most wives. I ask him to do something and if he doesn't get up and do it in lightening speed I will just do it myself. But, when he has a goal in mind he is sooo motivated to get it done RIGHT AWAY. He came home to see what we all saw-a demolished frosty and sickle. The kids were devastated and Josh was determined to find out who did it. After we discussed the path of the footprints it was kind of obvious so he went right next door and knocked. At that point I knew that he would have probably walked up and down the whole neighborhood and knocked on every door until he found who attacked our snow friends. Since our first guess was right Josh told the boy that he owned us an apology. So this is the sad sight of our hard work and love.

No need to worry we do live in Wisconsin and I am sure another snow storm is right around the corner( and we all know I will be there with my camera), it is just sad that they only lasted one day.

Frosty and Sickle

So our second official snow of the year was great, last year we never got a "good" snow. Some may say there is never a "good" snow, every time it snowed the kids asked to make a snowman and we never did because the snow wasn't good enough. When you are three and four the BEST snow ever is the heavy wet snow. Today in a matter of hours we got enough snow to make an awesome snowman. I had to start the snowballs but then the kids could do it themselves. Once the snowman was done we got a celery stick for nose a hunter orange hat, leaves for eyes and woodchips for the mouth. We got done, named him Frosty and Grant said in a really sad voice, "Mom we need to make another one so he isn't lonely." Ahh, he is so sweet. I however didn't want to make another snowman.

So instead we made him a pet dog called Sickle-short for Icicle

Grant loves his little snowdog!!!

Christmas Parade!!

We just went to the Christmas Parade in a nearby town(grafton), we had heard it was really good so we decided to give it a try. Before the parade we made letters for Santa that we handed to his "helpers" in the parade.
The kids waited so nice for the parade, they also had a fund raiser where Josh got us hot dogs, so that bought us a little time also!!

We got there 45 minutes early and let the kids run around, a lot of people had come early to save spots but we found what we thought was a really good spot, but this is what we saw....

I was soo frustrated because they stood right to the left of us in the road the whole time so we couldn't see anything until it was right in front of us.

Lucie was in Heaven because she got a hug from a snowman, a picture with Cinderella, and Tinkerbell sprinkled her with fairy dust/glitter-my camera wasn't ready for that one. Grant loved getting candy from a pirate, his favorite part was a dancing group from Chicago that had a lot of boys in it. He talked alot about that, and they were very good.

We got soo much candy it looked like halloween again.

When all was said and down, we saw military people, clowns, princesses, pirates, dancers, bands, candy, a HUGE pirate ship, Santa, dogs, a real life walking nativity(with real camels, donkey, Mary, Joseph, Wise men, etc.)-which was really cool. Everyone in the parade was sooo friendly-they would walk up to you, wait for a picture to be taken, they would talk to you. It was a very family oriented parade. The parade was 1 1/2 hours long and it was one of the best parades I have been to. There were soo many different things there, yet we didn't get alot of flyers and junk. It says a lot if you can keep Lucie's attention for 1 1/2 hours. Anyone local I would highly suggest the Grafton Christmas Parade for next year!!

Spikey Hair?

I decided to try to spike Grants hair, he loves it. He has his dads habit of twirling his hair when he is tired so I have always kept it really short. Well I decided to try it a little longer and spike it. I think it is pretty cute! Lucie saw a camera and thinks she needs to be in every pic.

In the afternoon we started our holiday fun and went to my sisters house to paint some glass ornaments.
