Trick or Treating!

Living in Wisconsin one thing is for sure-you never know what the weather will be. Growing up here I should know this, but for whatever reason I always feel the need to make Lucie's costume some sort of leotard thing. This year I had the kids costumes with a matching theme, Grant was Captain Hook and Lucie was Tinkerbell. Well the weather just so happened to be freezing-40 degrees and very overcast and windy. So we bundled the kids up, Grant was easy to bundle up because his costume was a little big for him. Lucie however wore her snowpants and jacket under her costume. For anyone who has ever seen my kids-they don't have much meat on them, especially Lucie. But she does look like a little chunker with her snowpants covered costume, and Grant looks like a very muscular Captain Hook.

Poor girl kept getting her costume in her bum, and she would stop to pull it out, but can you blame her, this is the view from the back!

Zooloween!

Yesterday my co-worker and I took our kids up to a park about 45 minutes away, it is called Menomenee Park in Oshkosh. They had a Zooloween Festival where the kids went trick or treating and got to play fun little carnival games. They also had clowns that made balloon things for kids, Lucie got a tinkerbell bracelet and Grant got a pirate sword. The kids had so much fun. Grant was Captain Hook and Lucie was Tinkerbell. The weather wasn't too bad, it was about 55, so for Wisconsin you really can't complain!! Then we let the kids run around on the playground!

Panic Mode!

Have you ever heard something from a child that almost puts you in a little panic mode. Well last night I went to bed early and Josh was watching the kids. I woke up this morning and got the kids ready for church in their ADORABLE matching halloween outfits my mom made them, I then looked for my camera, and looked, and looked. I found the case but the camera was GONE. I thought I knew who could have taken it since I do have a mini me in the house.

I asked the kids "have you seen mommy's camera?" And this is what was said so matter of factly from Lucie....

"IT'S IN THE TOILET!!!!"

I said No it isn't
She then goes "YEAH HA"

Oh my, it is gone-so I thought could it really fit through the pipes?? No it can't, but can a three year old get it to fit? Reality says no, but kids can somehow get things into places where they shouldn't "normally" be.

Oh my, so we ran out of time before church and so when we got home I told the kids no trick or treating until I have my camera. And who would have guessed my daughter came walking into the kitchen in less then 2 minutes and said "HA HA HA HA, look what I have" Oh my, I don't think I have grey hair yet but it is coming-SOON!!

So halloween pics will soon be posted.

Just like his grandpa!!

So I have a problem, and it drives Josh crazy. My food CAN'T touch. All growing up I heard from my dad that "It all goes to the same place", but I like all of my food to have a "home" on my plate(s). Fruits can't mix with veggies, and neither can mix with meat, and a salad goes on its own plate. It isn't uncommon for me to use two plates and a bowl at dinner time. My dad however will put anything on top of anything and eat it. So dad-this one is for you!!

The other day I made the kids a jelly sandwich for dinner, Grant asked for a banana on his, which I guess if you were a kids it would be good-so I cut one up and put it on his sandwich. I then put applesauce on his plate and a pickle on the very outside of his plate because he wanted one "really bad". I turned and finished making dinner, Grant is over at the table going "MMMMM MMMMM MMMMM", I turn to look and he put his applesauce and pickle on his sandwich, so he was eating a jelly/banana/applesauce/pickle sandwich-and he loved it!! I found it soooo disgusting-something he must of learned from Grandpa and he will NEVER see his mom do!!!

New park at Port!

Yesterday we went to a local city about 15 minutes away called Port Washington because they built a new half million dollar playground. The kids had lots of fun!! Since it is only about 1 month old and it was a nice October day the park was pretty crowded but it was still lots of fun!!! This spring when I have a half day and the kids are still in school I am going to bring the kids to go swimming in lake Michigan and then play at the park, I am already really excited!!

Sooo insulted!!

For those of you who have a kid know how things can be going great and just flip in a matter of seconds. For those of you have two kids that are somewhat close in age things turn bad faster and way more drastically!! So with that said.....

Have you ever been soo insulted that you just have to cry? I mean really had your feelings hurt. Well I was sitting at the computer trying to look for Lucie's last Christmas present when she came down the stairs crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said "Grant called me an old lady"

Trying not to laugh I got my camera, but by that time I kind of got the aftermath, which was a very exaggerated face. When Grant came down I asked him why he said that and he sort of laughed, I then asked him how old do you have to be to be an old lady? And he said very matter of factly "six". WOW how many of you know feel old.

Can you guess who......?

So we do live in Wisconsin which means that some days it is hot, and some days it is cold, and it can switch very quickly. Right now nights are around 45 and days are around 70. Today however was a heat wave, it got to the high 70's. So we decided to clean out the garage, get the snowblower ready etc. I was outside in the garage when I turned and looked to see the kids(Grant, Lucie, and my sisters two kids-Havi and Talitha) coming outside to play. This is what I saw!!!

Can you guess who is over dressed??

I have no clue why Lucie put on her snowpants and hat but she played outside for a good 20 minutes with them on, and if you notice Havalynne is behind her on another bike in shorts and a tank top. It was so funny of course I had to take a picture.

Lucie, Lucie, Lucie, What do you do with Lucie?? Document it for future laughs, and know that someday she will have a daughter just like her-what else can you do?

How Sweet!

So I have the sweetest son ever, he is always saying "mommy I love you 118 4" then I say "I love you 118 4 +2" and so on, but I think today he said the sweetest thing. A little background first-lately he has said he doesn't want to go to his speech class because he misses me soo much, so today I got him off the bus and he said "Mommy, I love my bus driver!" A little surprised I asked "why?" and he said "Because she always finds the way to my home". I am a little overemotional with my babies growing up, but that is sooo sweet!

The Pumpkin Farm!!

I absolutly love the fall/winter/holidays. Last week I was looking through the paper and found a pumpkin farm about 15 minutes away from our house that looked really cute and it was only $8.00 admission and then everything inside (including a pumpkin up to 20 lbs) was free. So today we took the kids to the pumpkin farm. It was sooo much fun! The kids jumped in a jumper, took a train ride, did a corn maze, stood in an "echo" silo and yelled and stomped there feet, did an apple sling shot, got to play in a little wooden train and of course took a hayride to the pumpkin field where we got to pick our pumpkins. Unfortunatly with our horrible weather this year the pumpkin selection was horrible, but still it was sooo much fun and we did find some pretty good pumkins!!

Fall Festival!!

So the older my kids get the more I look for free stuff to do in the community! We just had a family fall festival where admission was free. See anything wrong with that, "admission" is free. Everything inside was so expensive, and once we got there we had to let the kids do a few jumpers and pumpkin bowl, and paint the pumpkins. Overall it was tons of fun for the kids. Which is what really counts!
