An Almost Forgotten Memory!!

So I was doing work today and Grant came downstairs and said he was hungry. I asked what he wanted and he said he wanted a "peanut butter and banana sandwich". I don't think I have ever mentioned anything about that to the kids. I went back in my mind to a good 20 years ago when I was little and we would go to West Virginia to my grandparents cabin, I remember while at the cabin we would go walking in the woods, by the stream, watching birds in the morning and eating peanut butter and banana sandwiches, made by my grandparents. It is such a sweet memory that was brought back to life by my son. So we went in the kitchen and he helped make his own sandwich, which he loved!
We are so excited to have my gigi and grandpa move up here from Florida next month! I haven't seen them in 6 years and they have never met the kids.

THANKS FOR THE GREAT MEMORIES GIGI AND GRANDPA!!

The Zoo!!

Yesterday we went to the zoo with Grandma and Grandpa. It was lots of fun. It wasn't too hot, but to hot for the polar bears and that type of animal. We rode the zoo train fed the goats, and the kids got to run through the sprinklers that the zoo was using to water the grass! We had a blast with Grandma and Grandpa!!

A fun day with Grandma and Grandpa!!

Today we went to the old county courthouse and jail. I took a few pics of the kids in jail(better be the last pics).

Then we went to the store to get some food for a bbq and when we got out we realized it was going to rain, so we stayed home. Pam and I got dinner ready while Randy and the kids played in the rain!!

Then the kids were going off a neighbors little bike ramp, Lucie needed a little help from daddy!`

Kindness of a Stranger!!

I am overwhelmed at the kindness of a stranger that we recently met. The first day Grandma and Grandpa were here we were doing laundry and Pam noticed the washer was broke-not worth fixing and the dryer was close behind. We don't really have money for a new one, but need one so we go look, first at Sears, but wanted to see what other places had so we went to home depot. They had nothing we liked so Josh and Randy went back to Sears to buy one. Josh let the lady behind him go first, one thing led to another and that lady was getting a brand new very expensive washer and dryer and wanted to know if her "old" set would be donated. She ended up telling Josh that if he came and picked it up we could have it for free. Her old set is beautiful. The washer is maybe a year old and the dryer is maybe two. She probably could have gotten a couple of hundred for them, but she just gave them to us for free. She saved us about $1000.00. You just don't usually find people like that. All that she asked was that if we find someone in need we do the same. It kind of makes you wonder if you really do all you can to help people you don't know out!!

Our Vacation with Josh's Family!!!

We went to Schaumburg, IL this past weekend and met Josh's mom/dad/ and little sister Maylinn(who played in a basketball tournament there.) We got to see Maylinn play, which was a lot of fun. She did a really good job and I am glad we got to see her!!
We went to the mall and went to the Rainforest Cafe and Randy tried to get Grant to kiss the snake.

Back at the hotel room we had a pool and the kids went swimming, this is Grandpa helping kids get ready.

This is one of my favorite pictures it is of Grant and Grandpa jumping in the water.

Lucie got a big hair bow and matching flip flops from Aunt Misty and the gang, this is her hair bow, which is huge on her little head with no hair but still really cute!

We went to Sears and Pam and I were looking at shorts when I hear Lucie say "okay you have poo poo's" I turn and look to see her and Grant changing the maniquins diaper-it was hilarious!

We didn't see Maylinn alot but I was able to take a quick picture of her with the kids after one of her games!!

Independence Day Sunday!!

So of course I had mom make a matching tie for Grant for Sunday, it was adorable. Unfortunatly I couldn't get a "GOOD" picture of the two kids together. I did get some pretty funny ones!! We also got to church today and realized that Lucie was wearing a pair of Grants boxer shorts for underwear!!

This is my favorite, I have no clue what they were doing!!

Fun on the Fourth of July!!!

For the fourth of July we went to see the fireworks in a little town just north of here, which actually has better ones then West Bend does. We got there about two hours early and just let the kids run around and play.
This is Aunt Ruth, Uncle Dean, Havi, Talitha, Grant and Lucie!

the little girl from behind our house was also there.

Halfway through the fireworks, Grant looked at me and said "Mommy I tired" and fell asleep. About 2 minutes later Lucie said "Mommy when the fireworks starting"(which had started 15 minutes earlier)

For the fourth of July my mom made all the Grandgirls a matching dress/skirt. They are soo cute. On Sunday Grant will have a matching tie(pics to come)

Then we went to a little local park for a bbq lunch.
