Another First!!

Today My sister and I took her kids and Grant ice skating. The last time I was ice skating it was about 6 years and 80 pounds ago. I don't really remember it being such a painful experience. Grant lasted about 25 minutes and got half way around the rink. I never fell but I do have to mention that the only reason I didn't fall was because I was holding onto Grants walker!! It was soo incredibly unfun, but now I can say we went!! Grant had a blast-but he always does with his Havi!!

Our First Movie Theater Experience

So Today I got done at 12:30 so my sister and I took our kids to see Horton Hears a Who. My kids have never been to a movie before so this was both of their first times. We got popcorn, soda, m&m's and booster seats. We were doing great the first 20 minutes. Then Lucie started to squirm and went potty three times. Grant loved it, he was such a big boy sitting there laughing with his Havi and T. We had soo much fun!!!

Play Date

So Lucie had her first official play date. I think this may be the first friend Lucie has ever had come over to play with her at her house(except her cousin Ava) that is her age. I was babysitting my co-teachers little boy Jayden(who we went on the Easter Egg hunt). The kids had a ridiculous amount of fun!! They got in a debate on the way home when we passed the hospital because niether of them could say doctor right and so they didn't understand each other. They played house, made a train track, read books, played catch, ate dinner, etc. Then Grant was trying to change the tv channel and Lucie and Jayden walked by and both stood right next to the screen and laughed sooo hard. They had sooo much fun and were soo good playing together!! Clearly I was very excited because I ended up taking 24 pictures of the kids and he was only here 1 1/2 hours!!!

A Spring Walk

I love my job and my schedule. I work 40 hours a week but since three of the days are 6 1/2 hour days I still feel like I am somewhat of a stay home mom because three days I am home by 1 in the afternoon. So today I decided to take the kids for a spring walk. Seeing how we live in Wisconsin we have to take advantage of a good day when we get one. Today is almost 50 and sunny, tomorrow 30 and 6 plus inches of snow. Anyway Lucie sat in the stroller and Grant started to ride his new bike but.....

HIS NEW BIG IS TOO BIG, AND.....

HIS OLD BIKE IS TOO SMALL, SO....

WE ALL ENDED UP WALKING WHICH WAS JUST RIGHT!!

Walmart Store

So Lucie is very quite and being rather good-which should have been my first clue BUT I was too busy updating my blog, so when I went to check on her she was shopping in my kitchen. She took 6 walmart baggies, filled them and was taking them from the bathroom to the kitchen and all around the house. She put toys, food, hair stuff, etc. in the bags. After all I guess Walmart is the one stop shop!! I asked her what she was doing and she told me she was "Shopping at the Walmart store".

Easter outfits

So last night at 6:40 I got a phone call from my mom asking if I wanted her to make Lucie an Easter dress, so I went up there and looked through her fabric collection and found really cute fabric that could be a dress for Lucie and matching tie for Grant. I wish I had half the talent my mom has, they turned out beautiful!!! The kids weren't 100% cooperative of course but I tried!! We also had to tell Grant that nobody could see the purple in his tie-he refused to wear it at first because purple is a girl color!!

Easter Morning!!

So yesterday I didn't give Lucie a nap because I wanted her to sleep in, and it worked she slept from 7:15 to 6:45!! Then the kids got up and hunted for eggs and easter baskets. The kids have two easter baskets, one from yesterday and then a special one that was filled and the easter bunny hid! The kids were trying to open their eggs when one of Grants fell and busted open-which told a four year that if we hold the egg way above our head and toss it down it will open. Lucie on the other hand took the egg over to the side of the table and gently started hitting it on the end to open it like you would a real egg!!

Easter Egg Hunt

So this morning our city had their annual Easter Egg Hunt. Usually outside at our big city park but thanks to our 1 and 1/2 foot snow storm yesterday our egg hunt was moved to the inside county pavilion. Which meant way too many people inside. We took Havi and Talitha(cousins), and went with my co-teacher and her little boy Jayden. Then after the egg hunt we went to Burger King( where Lucie got a little kiss from Jayden). The kids had a blast. I was a little dissappointed at the egg hunt-but the kids didn't know the difference!! The local channel also interviewed the kids, which was kinda cute because Grant has a speech problem and the lady couldn't really understand them! I also got a picture fo me and the kids together at my sisters house later which is a rare shot(taken by an 8 year old)!! Enjoy pics!!

Easter Eggs and chores

So we dyed easter eggs last weekend and the kids had a blast. They colored the eggs, dyed them, stickered them and then ate them. Tomorrow we are hopefully going to a big city Easter egg hunt if it isn't canceled due to the weather.

The other pics are of Grant doing his FAVORITE chore-taking the trash cans in from the curb!! He loves it!!

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!!!

Winter Storm

First I have to apologize for the lack of blog entries. Lucie put a dime in my sd slot so I haven't been able to put pics on the computer but I bought an adapter this morning so we are up and running again. Today we got a ridiculous snow storm. It isn't done yet, started at 5 this morning and we already have almost a foot of snow with 5 hours to go. I took some pics of the kids playing in it, a snowball fight and shoveling!!
